How to make a Mai Tai
-
1Pour all the components but rum (!) into the shaker.
-
2Shake it well and pour inside a highball glass, filled with crushed ice. Ice lumps should be quite big.
-
3Then pour the rum carefully. The cocktail is almost ready - all that's left to do is to decorate it a bit - use a slice of pineapple or some other exotic fruit you've got in your fridge and possibly some citron. Bon appetit!

Mai Tai is, apparently, a Tahitian word meaning 'gorgeous'. The cocktail itself is pretty complex and requires quite a few ingredients. That is why sometimes it is called 'the most expensive cocktail'. Although, they say it is worth it - it's quite exotic, exquisite and unusual.
There is a curious fact connected with it - on may, 26 of 2011 a record has been set - a Ukrainian bar mixed the biggest Mai Tai in the world (so far) - the whole 27 liters of it. That must have been a beautiful party!
